Sergeant john Schroeder
John Schroeder is a native of Little Rock, Arkansas and has resided in Garland County since 2003. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southwest Baptist University in 2002. In addition, he received a Technical Certificate in Law Enforcement in 2014 and an Associate of Professional Studies in Law Enforcement from Southern Arkansas University Tech in 2016. Upon moving to Garland County he helped establish the Hot Springs Landlord Association and the State Landlord Association, eventually serving terms as President for both organizations. In 2009, he began his career with the Garland County Sheriff’s Department when he joined the Reserve Division, and in 2011 he became a member of the Garland County Tactical Response Team where he was eventually promoted to Team Leader. He began his full-time employment with the Sheriff’s department in 2013 and made patrol as the Neighborhood Oriented Deputy in 2014, then transferred to the training division in 2016 where he was promoted to Sergeant in the same year where he serves as Training and Media Relations Coordinator. He is a graduate of the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy Class 2014-C, a Graduate of FBI SWAT school, and a Graduate of Tactical Reality Training Group SWAT school. He is a certified Glock Armorer, and law enforcement Professional instructor, as well as a Firearms instructor. In 2011 he received the award Officer of the Year for the Reserve Division from the Garland County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #26. In 2012 he married his wife, Bobbie, and they are raising three children: Jolee, Braxton, and Johnny.
